HIGHTLIGHTS OF VIETNAM 1

You will be warmly welcomed upon arrival Hanoi airport and transferred to your hotel for check in. The balance of day is at your leisure.

Meal: No - Overnight: Ha Noi
The post-colonial capital city of Hanoi is a unique Asian city with tree-lined boulevards, French colonial architecture, numerous lakes, pagodas and temples. This full day tour takes you around Hanoi's most interesting sights, including the Ho Chi Minh Complex, Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum and his Stilt House, the Presidential Palace and the One Pillar Pagoda nearby, then the Temple of Literature. Keep going to visit Museum of Ethnologies, Hoan Kiem Lake (Sword Lake), then he ad to the Old Quarter for one hour cyclo tour around Hanoi old quarter. End the city tour with a show of Water Puppet.

In the morning, depart for Hoa Lu with 2 hours driving. The capital of Vietnam from 968 AD to 1010 AD during the Dinh and early Le Dynasties is Hoa Lu, which however has left its legacy in the form of two small temples, each one nearly a thousand years old. After two and half hour drive from Hanoi we visit these remaining structures, dedicated to the Dinh and Le Rulers, then climb 200 steps to the top of Ma Yen mount for a fantastic view over the surrounding areas.

The next stop of our trip is Tam Coc which is surnamed "Inland Halong Bay". We take a boat trip on a river through the quiet and peaceful landscape of rice fields surrounded by limestone formations to the grottoes of Tam Coc.

Drive back to Hanoi for the night train with A/C, soft sleeper cabin (4 people/cabin) to Lao Cai.

The train arrives at Lao Cai train station at approximately 6:00 a.m. and there will be a vehicle waiting to transfer you to Sapa. The drive to Sapa is only 33 km, but it takes around 1.5 hours.

Once at Sapa, you will have breakfast at the restaurant then trekking to the valley to visit the hill tribe villages of Cat Cat, home to the H'mong hill tribe minority peoples. As you walk to the villages nestled in the valley below Sapa, you will meet some of the local minority people on their way to and from Sapa. Here you will have the opportunity to share cultural experiences with the families that live in the area. You will stay overnight in Sapa.

aDrive to visit Bac Ha market filled with many different hill-tribe peoples. This is the most colorful market in North Vietnam. At the market, you have chance to enjoy Bac Ha people's simple but unique kinds of food with special wines made from rice, cassavas, corn and different sorts of fruits such as plumps, apples, peaches... talking to the minorities through the guide's interpretation. Return to Lao Cai and take the night train to Hanoi.

Arrival in Ha Noi Railway Station, transfer to a local restaurant for breakfast before depart for Ha Long Bay, we go through the scenic countryside.

The wondrous Ha Long Bay is truly one of Vietnam’s most impressive scenic sights. Heading out of the town we embark on a boat for an exploration of the legendary Ha Long Bay. This exciting five hour cruise will provide us a fantastic view of the picturesque scenery blending with the sky and some 3,000 limestone islands rising amazingly from the clear and emerald water. The limestone karsts formations are littered with beaches, grottoes and beautiful caves. Along the way we will anchor for a leisurely swim in a secluded cove and an enjoyable visit to one of the many hidden grottoes beneath towering cliffs. Stay overnight on the Junk Cruise.

VN Flight HAN - HUI

Waking up and starting your day with Tai Chi on the Sundeck while complimentary tea & coffee are served. Having Breakfast served onboard. Continue cruising around the bay. Disembark to Ha Long city around noon and you will drive directly from Ha Long to Hanoi airport for your short flight to Hue. Upon arrival at Phu Bai Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel for an overnight stay.

You will embark on a tour of the city, including the Citadel and the Forbidden Purple City - The Grand Palace of the last dynasty of Nguyen, the Imperial Museum and Dong Ba market. Finish your day on a cruise along Perfume River to enjoy Hue traditional music.

Meal: Breakfast, Lunch - O/N: Hue
Rising up in the ancient land, enjoy your breakfast in the hotel. Then, board a private boat for cruising the romantic Perfume River, visit Lady Pagoda (Thien Mu Pagoda), the ornate Minh Mang's tomb. Leave the UNESCO-designated World Heritage Hue for Hoi An. You will travel over the Hai Van pass, stop in Danang for a visit to the Cham Museum and handicraft villages on the foot of Marble Mountain before arriving in Hoi An. Once in Hoi An, you will check in our hotel and have some free time to explore the town.

From the 16th to 18th centuries, Hoi An was a thriving international commercial port for Chinese, Dutch, French, Japanese, Portuguese and Arab traders.

These people came primarily to trade in the high grade silk, which is still produced in the area, as well as ceramics. Today, Hoi An is a quaint riverside town, popular with tourists for its eclectic architecture, tailors shops, and numerous cafes. Some of the buildings in the narrow streets have remained unchanged for more than a century. You will enjoy a half-day walking tour through the narrow winding streets of the Ancient Quarter visiting Chua Ong Pagoda, Chinese Assembly Halls, the 200- year old Tam Ky ancestral house, and the Japanese Bridge. Following the tour there will be free time to shop or relax.

VN Flight DAD - SGN

AM: drive to My Son, a World Heritage, 40 kms southwest of Hoi An. My Son was a capital and religious center of Cham people, now remaining with red brick towers and sanctuaries. My Son, considered being in the same league as some of Southeast Asia's greatest archaeological sites, including Angkor in Cambodia, Bagan in Myanmar, Ayutthaya in Thailand and Borobudur in Indonesia. These towers and sanctuaries were built from the 7 to 13 centuries.

PM: transfer to Da Nang International Airport for flight to HCM city. Upon arrival at Tan Son Nhat Airport, welcomed and transfer to city for check in hotel.

Meal: Breakfast, Lunch - Overnight: Ho Chi Minh City
AM: drive to the Cu Chi Tunnels, which consist of more than 200 km of underground tunnels. This main axis system has many branches connecting to underground hideouts, shelters, and entrances to other tunnels. The network included innumerable trap doors, specially constructed living areas, storage facilities, weapons factories, field hospitals, command centers and kitchens. Today the remaining tunnels have become a major tourist attraction giving the visitor a unique experience and a feel of what underground life was like during the U.S.-Vietnam War.

PM: transfer back to HCM for a short tour to all interesting sites and landmarks in this bustling city. First stop is Notre Dame Catholic Cathedral and short visit to French built Post Office nearby, and then we will proceed to see the Reunification Palace, formerly the Presidential Palace governed by the US-pro government of Republic of Vietnam. Touring the building and then we will visit the War Remnants Museum, which primarily contains exhibits relating to the American phase of the Vietnam War.

Meal: Breakfast, Dinner - Overnight: Ho Chi Minh City
Drive to Cai Be in the heart of Mekong Delta. Stopping to take photos in Tan An town overlooking the picturesque flat rice fields. On arrival, take a boat cruise around the Cai Be floating market. Disembark and wander into small villages to visit green orchards. Discover the peaceful countryside life here. Back to Ho Chi Minh City for overnight. 07PM: Board a Cruise on Saigon river to enjoy your dinner and admire the beautiful city of night.
