In his speech, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam highly valued significant performance of tourism sector which highlighted its importance in socio-economic development. He appreciated the positive contribution of relevant agencies to abolishing barriers and facilitating tourism development; the communities’ role in promoting Viet Nam – a friendly, attractive and safe destination. Deputy Prime Minister especially praised the efforts and contribution of business community to the development of Viet Nam tourism.
He emphasized that the tourism sector should fully tap potentials and advantages of natural, cultural and human resources to offer international visitors truly interesting, unique and memorable experiences. He also asked VITA with its role representing interests of tourism enterprises to continue to propose policies in favor of their development.
First organized in 1999, Viet Nam Tourism Award is the most prestigious annual award of the Viet Nam’s tourism sector. The award aims to honor leading enterprises which have been successful in improving tourism service quality, diversifying tourism products, promoting Viet Nam tourism, and making significant contribution to tourism development.

At the ceremony, 91 awards were granted to Vietnamese leading tourism enterprises, including:
Top ten 5-star hotels: JW Marriott Ha Noi, Rex Hotel (HCM City), Grand Hotel (HCM City), Pullman Sai Gon Centre (HCM City), Pan Pacific (Ha Noi City), Intercontinental Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa Province), Melia Ha Noi, Sheraton Ha Noi, Majestic Hotel (HCM City), and Pullman Da Nang Beach Resort (Da Nang City).
Top ten 4-star hotels: Novotel Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa Province), TTC Premium Michelia Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa Province), Fortuna Ha Noi, Park Royal Sai Gon (HCM City), Victoria Can Tho, Sai Gon Morin Hue (Thua Thien Hue Province), Eden Phu Quoc Resort (Kien Giang Province), Bamboo Village Beach Resort & Spa (Binh Thuan Province), Hoi An Hotel (Quang Nam Province), and Continental Sai Gon (HCM City).
Top ten 3-star hotels: Victory Hotel (HCM City), Huong Sen Hotel (HCM City), Sai Gon Hotel (HCM City), Vien Dong Hotel (HCM City), TTC Deluxe Airport Hotel (HCM City), Ham Luong Hotel (Ben Tre Province), Cuu Long Hotel (Can Tho City), Hoang Yen Hotel (Binh Dinh Province), AP Plaza Hotel (Hoa Binh Province), and Kim Hoa – Phu Quoc Hotel (Kien Giang Province).

Top ten inbound tour operators: Saigontourist (HCM City), ANEX Viet Nam (Khanh Hoa Province), Exotissimo Viet Nam (HCM City), APEX Viet Nam (HCM City), HIS Song Han Viet Nam (Da Nang City), JBT-TNT (HCM City), Ben Thanh Tourist (HCM City), Asia DMC (Ha Noi City), Vietravel (HCM City), and Fiditour (HCM City).

Top seven tourist attractions: Central Sector of Imperial Citadel of Thang Long – Ha Noi (Ha Noi City), Hue Imperial Citadel (Thua Thien Hue Province), Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam (Temple of Literature, Ha Noi City), Vietnamese Women’s Museum (Ha Noi City), Viet Nam Museum of Ethnology (Ha Noi City), Cu Chi Tunnels (HCM City), and Valley of Love (Lam Dong Province).
